The Vision
The vision of the Teen Ranch Foundation is to give Teen Ranch financial stability and independence. It wants to create sustainable, long-term wealth allowing Teen Ranch to remain focused on being a Christian camp where campers are encouraged to develop physically, socially, intellectually and spiritually.
About Us
The Teen Ranch Foundation has been set up to be the fund-raising arm for Teen Ranch. Teen Ranch needs a significant capital investment to ensure its long-term viability and sustainability. Although Teen Ranch itself has a policy of non-solicitation of funds, it complies very thankfully when people approach with a desire to help. Phil Clark, past president of the foundation, expressed his desire to establish an endowment fund to assist Teen Ranch. He and his wife Debbie made a very generous financial commitment over five years to jump start this fund through the Teen Ranch Foundation. From that simple beginning, the Foundation was formally established with a board of directors and specific financial objectives. With your assistance, we are confident that we will quickly achieve our objectives.
The Objectives
The Foundation has three initial objectives:- To help reduce the debt at Teen Ranch
- To realize a campaign fund of $5.5m over four years for new facilities. Over CDN$1.1 million has been pledged already. There are a great many wonderful ideas on how we can expand and extend the operation to bring the benefits to a wider audience, including an in-door stadium. But any expansion can not be financed from the operational budget.
- Create a long-term endowment for financial security, to supplement Teen Ranch’s income.
Governance
Teen Ranch is a registered charity in Canada. Two Foundations have been set up for Teen Ranch: The Teen Ranch Foundation which is registered in Canada and the Friends of Teen Ranch which is registered in the US. They are vehicles for Canadian-based giving and US-based giving respectively, and share the same board of directors.
The Canadian entity is formally registered with Revenue Canada while the US entity has been registered as 501C3 charity in the US.
The Foundation is run independently from the Ranch and has its own board of directors, chaired by Bruce Bowser.
